eyes filmed with sleep haze burning off like morning fog unwelcome slumber uninvited
a vindictive blow that left my fingers grasping legs suddenly boneless stumbling for balance
my head an unperceived vunerability the wound gives like and over-ripe melon pulpy under my hair
horrified fingers play over the spot with morbid curiosity it's irresistable
a touch memories of my grandmother wiping her hands on her apron wrinkling her nose at such an over-ripe tomato


Abstraction: Gold Foil StarNear where I sit, there is a gold foil star dangling from a length of ribbon. Over the course of the day, I have watched it slowly twist and dance not unlike the thing of its inspiration, influenced by the bodies around it, mimicking gravity in a microcosm of physics and energy. A girl passes the star, uncaring and unaware, her pale bleached hair dripping on her shoulders like the tail of a comet, and the star drifts after her, pulled by the wake of her passing, only to return, like a pendulum, to the place it had once occupied.Abstraction: Gold Foil Star
